Moodboard Set Live on YouTube

At the beginning of this month I had the opportunity to DJ at the monthly electronic event at Rubies on Five Points that happens every first Friday in Durham, Moodboard. I shared the night with Femi The Femme who kicked things off with an open format set with a lot of older R&B and rap tracks, which I appreciated a ton hearing them.

I planned to do a No Requests set, and mannnnn did I ever! The set was wild af and got the spot crackin’ almost instantly. I caught everyone’s attention with the first verse from the Geto Boys gangster anthem Bring It On . If you are not familiar with this 8 min+ posse cut with a who’s who from Rap-A-Lot Records, you need it in your life. As with much rap from the ‘golden era’ there are some questionable lyrics, so don’t view this as an endorsement but it does have its place and appeal. After quick 45 sec intro to get folks hype it was AWWWWWN.
