DJ HALO has spent nearly three decades perfecting his craft, beginning in 1997 with a simple “$300 DJ in a box” setup and evolving into one of the most versatile and well-traveled DJs in the underground scene. His commitment became undeniable in 2007 when he quit his day job to embark on a DIY 42-date, 45-day tour—a decision that launched a career spanning all 48 continental US states and multiple countries.

When rap royalty Kool Keith (Dr. Octagon, Black Elvis, Ultramagnetic MCs) needed a DJ for his Black Elvis 2 US Tour in late 2023, he chose HALO. That partnership has continued into 2025 with 27 additional dates across coast-to-coast tours: 10 dates through the West Coast/Southwest and 17 dates across the East Coast/Midwest. When you’ve earned the trust of a legend like Keith, you’ve proven your mettle behind the decks.

But HALO’s touring resume extends far beyond one artist. He’s performed alongside hip-hop acts including Marc Live, Awol One, The Metermaids, Ceschi Ramos, Cage, Sadistik, MC Homeless, and BRZOWSKI. His international footprint includes solo DJ tours across the US and Europe, plus recent Colombian tour dates in February 2024, making him a truly global performer.

Festival credentials are equally impressive: 6x SXSW performer, 5x DMC regionals competitor, and 2x Treefort Festival official performer. Multi-year residencies in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Oakland, San Francisco, and Durham, NC prove his ability to build lasting relationships with venues and audiences.

2025 has been a masterclass in creative expansion. His weekly YouTube series “Mixology,” launched in February, showcases next-level turntablism using advanced techniques like stem separation, live remixing, and cutting-edge FX processing. Each episode demonstrates why HALO is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in real-time mixing.

Between Keith tours, HALO literally ran a half marathon—because apparently conquering crowds wasn’t cardio enough. This dedication to pushing personal limits mirrors his approach to music: always reaching for the next level, never settling for comfortable.

His international presence expanded with appearances at the prestigious Ibiza DJ Summit in May, followed by club dates at Dublin’s Club SoHo and Pygmalion. August brings more Ibiza dates (Aug 19-24), while October finds him at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). November’s Jamrock Cruise booking demonstrates his ability to rock any stage, from intimate club rooms to floating festivals.

Locally, HALO has created something special with his third Saturday monthly vinyl appearances at Downtown Mebane [NC] Farmer’s Market (April-November), bringing authentic DJ culture to unexpected spaces and building community around his 12,000+ LP collection.

Beyond performing, HALO runs Four Finger Distro, which released an official Record Store Day title in 2024 featuring Kool Keith, MC Homeless, Open Mike Eagle, and Gel Roc—selling over 1,400 copies independently. He’s also produced two EP projects: “Witchitah” with BRZOWSKI and “The Hijack” with brokeMC, available on all digital platforms.

Broadcasting runs deep in HALO’s DNA with regular shows on WPKN 89.5FM, WVOF 88.5, and current weekly residencies on Hale.London (UK), WXDU 88.7FM, plus a monthly slot on Ibiza Club News radio in Spain.

As 2025 winds down, HALO promises to “collapse like a dark star in December”—which, knowing his track record of 42-date DIY tours and international residencies, probably means he’s planning something spectacular.
