Happy Holidays to All!
As is my annual tradition, I am updating you on my year and wishing you had a great year, happy holiday, and safe new year. This year I am trying something different: to turn a negative, me running out of time to design my cards, order, pack and ship them, to a positive by recording my yearly update letter as an extemporaneous video, create a gallery of some of my favorite previous designs, and house it all on this personal web page. I have also curated a song I felt was seasonally appropriate to associate to each image. Simply click the image to listen. Enjoy!
2017: If you are unaware, December 25th is actually an old pagen festival called, Saturnalia, which christians co-oped for PR purposes. I chose a trippy video of a Song called “Topsy Turvy” about it because many of our folk traditions are rooted in PSYCHEDELIC experience.
2019: This image is just sooo Iconic. it just all came together. I Chose a song by Billy Joel called, “sleeping With The TV On”. It felt APPROPRIATE as that’s what you do when this image is on.
2022: I try to have each year’s images state a few things. One of them is always a positive message about finding your path, your tribe, and ultimately yourself. Expressed by a favorite remix of Morcheeba’s “Enjoy The Ride” by Weekend Return.
2022: Christmas as we know it is a much older celebration of the winter Solstice and beAUTY IN THE DEPTHS OF DARKness. the Pantera cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan” represents this imo. which happens to also have a really trippy very early CGI video.
2023: SPreading the idea of this word ‘CHeer’ is the entire reason I make these cards. To give everyone a reminder to have this in their life, hopefully all year. This idea is expressed beautifully by the go! Team in their song “Look Outside (A New Year’s COming)
2019: Our holidays are all rooted in nature as a PSYCHEDELIC life force. A force that is being misused by modern society, taking us to the brink of extinction. The quote is taken directly from the Aesop Rock song “Zero Dark Thirty” on his RSE debut, Skelathon

Every year I am grateful and honored to be able to have the opportunity to share part of my life with you via my update letter. In that respect I feel it is my duty to provide you with literal “Good Cheer” via my graphic art pieces. Positive messaging that only asks you to feel good about who you are, your accomplishments over the course of the year, and that you are charting the course that is right for you and who you want to be at this time next year. While this started as an exercise in turning a negative into a positive, it has become an honor to give an artist statement to the work I do every year to show you how grateful I am to have such amazing people in my life. It’s with great pleasure I say to you, “Happy Holidays and a Safe New Year!”.
